Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed. Please contact Diane Pedulla (dianepluckydoganimalrescue) for more information about this pet. small sweetie seeking fresh start and love! BENTLEY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Bentley Best Guess for Breed: Bentley Best Guess for Age: 8 years as of August 2025 SEX: Male Approximate Weight: 25 lbs Gets Along With: Bentley has lived with other dogs and children! We haven't seen him with cats but are happy to discuss integration techniques with interested adopters. Currently Living at: DC area home All About Bentley: First - yes, we know. His LOOKS! He is an incredibly cute pup (even cuter in person than in his pictures). But Yorkie mix? That's what's on his vet records - their best guess for at least one of his breeds. Us, well, we think he's a Heinz 57 and every single one of those 57 breeds are amazing. What a great combination. Bentley had a home. He was loved. He lived with children. Then suddenly his family was gone, no explanation. He was left behind. He has firmly closed that chapter and is now thriving in a foster home. His foster says he is such a great dog. He's good in the home, good on leash. He loves meeting other pups and going to dog parks. Just an all-around fun pup. Yeah, he's about eight years old - which means he's out of the puppy yips and you know exactly what you're getting personality-wise. He certainly has plenty of zip for those walks and romps in parks - small dogs' engines run well for longer and he's no exception. Bentley is looking forward to once again having his humans, to loving and being loved. He's up for all those adventures with them, for cuddles in the evening after a fun day together. He's ready to pledge his loyalty to his forever family. Will that be you? Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
