Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. Greg is a cute, silly, and fun-loving puppy! He loves to play, chase sticks, and follow his people around—ear scratches are his absolute favorite. Greg is still working on potty training and crate training, but he’s young, food-motivated, and learning every day. He uses pee pads when free-roaming and is getting better at knowing where to go. Greg isn’t overly vocal, though he may speak up if he’s scared or needs something. He had parvo early in life, so he missed out on some early socialization, and will need slow introductions when making new friends. Right now, he barks at other dogs so his foster family is helping him with socialization. He does not have experience with cats or kids. Greg just wants to play with you and have fun all day! A few short walks or play sessions each day and some chew sticks are enough to keep him happy and healthy. Greg is a typical growing puppy—he’ll need training, consistency, and lots of love. In return, you’ll get a loyal, loving best friend who greets you with joy and never wants to leave your side. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
