Pennington County Humane Society 🐾 Meet Hunter - A Shy Pup with a Sweet Soul Hunter is a 3- to 4-month-old Chow Chow/Shepherd mix who came to us from RLRR nearly four months ago. His history is unknown, but his future holds great promise. He's been neutered and is currently receiving medical treatment for both Lyme disease and Demodex (a type of mange caused by microscopic mites). Demodex isn't contagious and is common in young or immune-compromised dogs—it's treatable. Hunter is also on a course of doxycycline to help him heal from Lymes. Though he can be shy at first, Hunter is still very much a puppy—curious, energetic, and learning about the world one sniff at a time. With patience and gentle guidance, he blossoms into a sweet companion.
