Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff / Mixed (medium coat). Hi there! I'm Rosie, a 4-year-old Cane Corso mix with a heart as big as my paws (and trust me, they're pretty big). I may look strong and serious, but deep down I'm just a gentle soul who loves to lean in close and soak up all the love. I'm a calm, easy-going kind of gal. I like to take things slow, enjoy some head scratches, and maybe nap by your side. I haven't met a ton of dogs yet, but so far I've been pretty chill around them. Mostly, I'm just looking for someone who wants a sweet, quiet best friend to love on. If you've got a soft spot for big softies, come meet me. I'll be waiting with a wagging tail and open heart. Email adoptyoloshelter to meet Rosie at our shelter in Woodland! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
