Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. Available for Adoption! Meet Billy – Your New Adventure Buddy! Billy is a goofy, lovable pup bursting with energy and heart. He’s fun, funny, and always up for a good time—whether that’s zooming around the yard, making you laugh with his clumsy puppy legs, or just entertaining himself with his favorite toy (which he does very well alone). He’s like a real-life Scooby-Doo—full of personality, always ready to go, and sure to keep you smiling! This sweet, kind-hearted boy is also learning fast and growing into his legs in the most endearing way. He’ll thrive in an active home where he can join in on hiking, camping, or any family adventure. Billy’s the perfect companion for anyone who wants a loyal, silly sidekick by their side. Great with families, always up for fun, loves the outdoors, full of love & laughs. Billy is working on some basic commands such as come, sit, down, leave it and off. He is crate trained, working on potty training, great with kids, cats and all dogs. He has had a vet visit, is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated - DHPP x 4, Rabies & Bordetella x 2. He’s had a 4 DX test (testing for Lyme disease and two types of tick-borne illnesses), flea/tick/heartworm prevention (Nexgard Plus), two dewormings, and 2 fecal test. Adopters will receive all original paperwork, a 14-day health guarantee, a collar, harness, leash, seatbelt lock, and a week's worth of food. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and are by appointment only. We are located in Mesa near Gilbert/Brown & offer flexible hours for meet-and-greet appointments. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
