He has been nothing but a sweetheart. Toast was on the list to be euthanized but with those sweet eyes we knew we had to save him! Toast loves other dogs and enjoys playing. He's a puppy still so can get a little jumpy on people but corrects well. He's looking for that home that's going to show him how to be the best boy that he can be! We don't think it will take much he's such a good boy and fits into the routine very quickly. He thinks everyone's his friend and he wants everyone to be his friend! In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
