BRINN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Brinn and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (August 24th) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Silver Spring (12020 Cherry Hill Rd, Silver Spring, MD 20904)! Name: Brinn Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and terrier mix Best Guess for Age: 6 months as of August 2025 SEX: Female Approximate Weight: 39 lbs as of 8/4/25; she is still growing. Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area boarding/daycare facility Brinn is Looking For: Her forever family! This pretty girl is at the tail end of puppyhood and and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world. She's looking forward to having her own humans to show her all of the exciting things the world has to offer. Trips to parks, playdates with friends, and new adventures are on her to-do list! She'd love to go to dog school too, so she can show how smart she is. Most of all, though, she wants to know she's safe and loved. In exchange, she promises all the adoring gazes and happy tail wags she's storing up, and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Are you ready for all those adventures with Brinn? What Daycare Staff Says About Me: Brinn is doing amazing with us! She has a super kind/bubbly personality. She loves playing/wrestling with dogs , loves being cuddled/rubbed on and is very food/treat motivated as well. Always super active, basically the life of the pawty! Among her personality traits: Active, chill, curious, and confident! Dog's Day Out Adventure (8/21): Brinn was an excited hiker in the woods, enjoying the smells and sights and sounds. She had fun scrambling up and down the trail, and liked to splash in the creek. She loves the fresh air and was an expert in sniffing out the trail back to the car. Also was fantastic with other dogs - we were surprised by two energetic larger pups who were running down the trail off leash, but Brinn was friendly and confident and non-aggressive, so we had no issues whatsoever. Once we came back to the house, she was a total angel - very calm and respectful! She wanted to climb up on the furniture but was fine to take 'no' for an answer, and happily chewed on a toy and then curled up on the dog bed and passed out after all the excitement! Very loving and sweet, and no doubt will be a very loyal friend to some lucky family! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
