Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Nacho may be petite, but don’t let his size fool you—this little guy is serving up full-sized puppy energy with a side of sweetness. At just the right blend of chill and chaos, he spends most of his day snoozing like a pro, then suddenly cranks the dial up to 11 for an epic round of zoomies, tug-of-war and general “look-how-cute-I-am” antics. He’s still working on his house manners, but he’s such a smart, confident boy that we think he’ll catch on fast. In the meantime, tug-of-war is his absolute favorite pastime (and a great way to keep those teething chompers busy). Nacho is currently living peacefully with 6 dogs and 4 cats—he takes cues from the dogs, politely ignores the cats (unless one’s brave enough for a head boop) and has shown zero fears. No kids in his foster home yet, but we think he’d be fine; just keep in mind he’s a mouthy puppy learning his boundaries. His ideal home? Honestly—anywhere there’s love, playtime and people who think “snack breaks” should be part of the daily schedule. Another dog would be a bonus, but not a requirement if you’re ready to be his partner in play. If you’re ready for puppy kisses, zoomie entertainment and a lifetime of nacho-flavored joy, come meet this little firecracker. Warning: you will fall in love. Nacho weighs 17 pounds as of August 1, is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and his adoption fee is $350. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
