Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Tristan was surrendered back to the shelter due to stranger danger. He will need slow and proper introductions with people and a home with NO children & NO cats. Surrendered with his brother, Max and sister Ally when the owner could no longer care for them. Tristan is said to love attention and belly rubs and always wants to be near his humans. They were mostly kept in an outdoor environment so will need some transition time to adjust to a cozy home environment and ideally with a crate until they're potty-trained and know your house rules. They are all under-socialized and fearful of new people and things so a quiet home with no children is ideal. Come chat with a caretaker today if you think one of these pups sound ideal for you.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
