Description
Dog Breed: Schnauzer. **COURTESY POST** Luna is a 4 year old spayed schnauzer. She is a sweet-natured girl with lots of love to give. She was raised by a single woman, and prefers females over men. Luna is crate trained and walks well on a leash. She requires a fenced backyard to play in, with room to run and get her wiggles out. She has never been housed with another animal, so it is unknown how she will do, but given her sweet personality, she will likely do just fine with proper introduction. Luna is looking for a new home due to the fact that her person has physically been unable to properly care for Luna and give her the exercise she needs. Her person loves her dearly, but wants what is best for her. So, Raining Cats N Dogs is helping Luna find her forever home with the perfect people. Luna deserves unlimited love and the best care possible! If you think you are the home Luna is looking for, please fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website (go to forms and applications to find). If you have any additional questions, please contact 530-232-6299.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
