Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Coming soon!! Remember the sweetest little puppy someone found abandoned in a box. Well he's doing amazing and thriving in his foster home. After his vetting, he'll be ready for his forever home. ❤️ Introducing Mike! Here’s the “situation” who found himself in one at the park where he was dumped. Mike is a spunky approx 8 week old mix weighing in at 7.4lbs. He’s 100% puppy so he eat sleeps poops and plays on repeat. He is working on potty training and doing great, crate trained too. He is also working hard on manners, but no one ever taught him to be gentle with those puppy teefers (so probably no super young kiddos). We think he would benefit from a pup friend to learn from and play with, but they'd have to understand he's a tiny little boy. Make his wish come true and apply!! Www.4paws4rescue

In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
