Dog Breed: Rat Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Max is an adorable pup who is looking for a forever home. He is with our rescue partner in Louisiana but is hoping to come to NJ soon. We offer a foster-to-adopt trial for approved adopters. Max's story started on the streets- he came in as a stray with another dog. Through it all, he's kept his gently, loving heart. Max is the ultimate sidekick. He'll match the energy of dogs around him- happy to play when it's playtime, and just as content to enjoy quiet moments by your side. Whether he joins a family with other pups or becomes someone's one-and-only, Max will fit right in. He's kid friendly, loves chewing on his toys, soaking up affection and simply being close to his people. He is house-trained and walks well on a leash. Max is ready to leave his stray days behind and finally have a family to call his own. Max is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He completed heartworm treatment in Louisiana. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
