Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 625.00. Meet Transylvania Born May 15, 2025 | Retriever-Anatolian Mix | Male Don’t let the spooky name fool you—Transylvania is 100% sunshine and snuggles! This goofy little guy is a Retriever-Anatolian mix with a heart as big as his paws. At just a few months old, he’s already winning hearts with his puppy charm, wiggly tail, and floppy ears that seem to have a mind of their own. Transylvania is great with kids and other dogs, making him the perfect sidekick for a playful household. He’s got that classic puppy energy—zoomies, chewies, and curious sniffing galore—but he’s also super smart and easily redirected when mischief calls. Crate training? Crushing it. He’s learning fast and eager to please. Whether he’s chasing toys, cuddling on the couch, or giving you his best “did someone say treat?” face, Transylvania is ready to bring joy, laughter, and a little bit of puppy chaos to his forever home. Looking for: A loving family with room to play, patience to guide him, and lots of belly rubs. Bonus points if you enjoy puppy kisses and unconditional love. Adopt Transylvania and let the adventure begin!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
