Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Hi, my name is Dottie! I was wandering the streets when this nice lady picked me up and took me home with her. At my new foster house, I have two dog siblings, and two cat siblings. I like cats, but mom says I must be gentle, and honestly, their murder mittens scare da heck out of me, so I prefer to play with my doggie sisters. Plus, my sisters are the very bestest!! We play tag, hide and go seek, we chew on toys, we sit outside in the sunshine, and sometimes we even play in the sprinkler!! In the evenings we get on the sofa and all 3 of us like to pile on top of mom and watch TV! Itâs so great, itâs like one big hug! My foster mom says Iâm âthe perfect toddler,â because Iâm still a cute puppy, no more than a year old, but Iâm already potty trained, crate trained, and leash trained! I know how to sit for treats, and I listen to my mom really good! Dottie is spayed, fully vaccinated, and heartworm negative. She is a very loving, gentle, happy, and healthy girl. She is dog, cat, and kid friendly. Dottie would make the perfect addition to any household!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
