NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION NEW INTAKE 8/10/2025: Orson - male - 8 years old - 30.12 pounds - Standard Dachshund Reason for intake: Orson came to us from an animal control out of this area. Sadly, the owner committed suicide and it was three weeks before he was discovered. (We have changed the name of the dog and we didn't disclose the animal control so as to protect the privacy of the owner's family.) Sadly, this is not the first time we've taken in a dog due to these circumstances and it won't be the last. It's important to check on family and friends who suffer from loneliness and depression. If you or someone you love is suffering, help is available. Just like 911, you can call 988 for the suicide and crisis lifeline. Orson will be heading to our vet soon for vetting. Stay tuned. NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: Many dogs, particularly breeder, hoarder or senior dogs, can have multiple medical issues that need addressed. Additionally, sometimes we take in young puppies requiring multiple vaccinations and/or quarantining. In this particular case, we are not yet taking applications either due to age or possible illness or some other reason. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption.
