Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to siangingerspetrescue Hi! My name is Shiro, and I came all the way from Korea in hopes of finding my forever home. I am about 3 years old, weigh 14 lbs, and am a handsome Shiba Inu boy. I was rescued from a difficult past, a high kill shelter in South Korea and now I’m ready for a new chapter filled with kindness and care. I’ve traveled a long way to get here, and all I need now is a family who will give me the love I’ve been waiting for. So far, I have not shown any issues with other dogs, children, or people — but every dog may respond differently when settling into a new home. My adoption fee of $1,995 is a donation that is non-refundable and helps save the lives of other dogs in need. It covers my neuter, vaccinations, microchip, boarding fees, health certificate, and transport costs from Korea to Seattle. A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs — you can bring your own or purchase one from us. We do not guarantee the breed or age of our dogs. Ginger’s Pet Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, and all adoption fees are donations that help more dogs get their second chance. Overview:
The Shiba Inu, a spirited and ancient breed originating from Japan, is renowned for its fox-like appearance and independent nature. Historically bred for hunting in mountainous regions, they possess a strong, athletic build with a distinctive curly tail and alert, expressive eyes. Their coat is typically short and dense, often displaying striking red, sesame, or black and tan colors, complete with a creamy "urajiro" underside. Temperamentally, Shibas are known for their intelligence, confidence, and sometimes aloof demeanor, yet they form strong bonds with their families. While they can be excellent companions, their strong prey drive and independent streak mean they require consistent training and socialization from a young age. They adapt well to apartment living provided they receive sufficient daily exercise, but a secure yard is always a plus. Generally a healthy breed, they can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, hip dysplasia, and allergies, making responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups essential. Their unique personality and striking looks make them a captivating choice for experienced dog owners who appreciate a dog with character.
