Once your application is approved, the WI manager will call you to discuss adoption, answer questions and set up a private meet and greet if you are interested. This process can take up to 7 days. Lily, female, 17 weeks Shepherd mix, weighs 22lbs We rescued Lily from a reservation where she was suffering from a broken leg after being kicked. Despite only being 11 weeks old at the time, and obviously in pain, she remained a happy and loving puppy. Now 6 weeks later, her leg has healed and is ready to bless your family with everlasting adoration. She has grown strong and healthy, loves playing with her toys and gets along great with other dogs. She has been well socialized with kids during her recovery as well and she is always ready for belly rubs. Lily is smart and eager to please. She is crate trained and is now learning her leash manners as part of her therapy. Her favorite things are hanging out in the yard and watching the world go by. Lily is also doing well with her house training despite spending this past month in a cast. This beautiful girl deserves so much better than where she started out and we know there is a family out there she can love forever. We are located at S47 W30760 State Road 59, North Prairie, WI As always, we never guarantee the breed OR the size they'll be as an adult. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
