Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. Pretzel is a 10-week-old Shepherd mix whose sweet face and loving eyes will absolutely melt your heart! At just 12 pounds, Pretzel is sweet, kind, and always greets everyone with tail wags and puppy kisses (people and other dogs alike). Pretzel adjusted to her new home with her foster family very easily and has had so much fun playing with her siblings! While she hasn’t started house or crate training yet, she’s a smart, well-adjusted puppy who’s ready to learn. She is vocal, so a home with another dog or a person who is home frequently would be recommended. Pretzel charms everyone she meets—humans, dogs, and even cats. She has done well living with her foster family's resident cat so her foster family does not have concerns of a feline roommate in the future. She’s also wonderful with kids of all ages. Pretzel has a lot of energy! She loves exploring the yard, playing in water, and curling up for snuggles after her adventures. She will thrive in a home that can give her plenty of playtime, walks, and mental stimulation. Because she loves to explore, a home with a secure fence is recommended. If you’re looking for a sweet little puppy to grow with your family, Pretzel is ready to twist her way right into your heart! = If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - pethavenmn/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $550. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
