Dog Breed: Dachshund / Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Derek is a very handsome boy who is looking for a new home. Derek is with our rescue partner in North Carolina. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial for approved adopters. Derek is a silly, playful pup! He was abandoned at a vet office. He is just a puppy! He is giving Dachshund vibes with the long body and short legs but he must be mixed with something bigger since he is already 15 lbs at about 4.5 months. We are almost always guessing on breeds! Derek is dog friendly and at this age, we would anticipate he will be compatible with cats and kids too. Derek is fixed, up to date on vaccines. If we are able to save him, his adoption fee will be $550. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
