Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Malfoy is a very handsome shepherd mix who is looking for a new home. Malfoy is with our rescue partner in North Carolina. We do offer a foster-to-adopt trial for approved adopters. Malfoy showed up at a farm as a stray and they called animal control to come get him. He did great with the dogs and cats and farm animals! He is so smart and loves to play, especially fetch! He is good on leash and knows sit. Malfoy walks nicely on leash. Malfoy is fixed, up to date on vaccines. He has tested positive for heartworm. We need a foster to save his life! Treatment for heartworm includes 30 days of oral antibiotics and 2 visits to our vet in Barnegat, NJ followed by 30 days of restricted activity. If we are able to save him, his adoption fee will be $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
