Description
Dog Breed: Maltese / Mixed. He was badly neglected matted scared and had a rope collar embedded in his neck wound and tangled in matted coat. At first he was very scared and nervous at the shelter. After a week he warmed up and was sweet with people. Shelter vet was able to clear some mats and cut the rope from his neck. He was fine being bathed. He relaxed and enjoyed time in the shelter staff's office vs shelter cage ward with load barking noises. He was probably left alone in a backyard so was very nervous of change and suddenly dumped in a shelter. Was fine with first walk out of cage in shelter hallway on leash with another dog but didn't play (too nervous there). More info. and photos to come as he relaxes gets healthy fresh foods grooming and TLC at his Foster Home. Sterling needs time to feel safe to see more of his personality and needs.
