Age: 14 weeks Size: 5 lbs Estimated breed: Chihuahua mix Update from my foster 9/1: Giselle (aka Zellie, aka Zellie Belly) is waiting for her forever family to apply and come meet her! She's super sweet, but also very spunky. She's still very much a puppy and would like someone who is able to spend the time showing her how to be the best girl she can be. She is teething, learning potty manners (but doing great), and has all the puppy energy. While Zellie likes to cuddle when she's calm and tired, she loves to play even more and is fairly independent. She is definitely not a "pocket pooch!" The great thing with Zellie is that she's not your typical chihuahua. She's not yappy, she's well socialized, and she's not territorial. The one trait she does have, in her mind she's a big dog and she likes doing big dog things! Giselle's perfect home: - Another furry companion is a must. It can be a cat or a dog, but a friend to play with is important to her. Size doesn't matter as long as they are tiny dog savvy. - Zellie loves the outdoors - running, sun bathing, chasing bugs, scavenging for bunny poop, as long as she's outside she's happy. If you have a fenced in yard for her to play in that is ideal! But she could also be set up in a temporary pen. - An adopter who can continue providing positive socialization opportunities. Her foster/trainer will guide you through this! - A family who will not try and carry her around all the time. Though she is a tiny dog, Zellie is pretty independent and she likes when people respect that. A family in SC reached out to our friends Because of Roscoe for assistance with their four chihuahuas, including nursing mama Gigi and her three little babies. The trailer where they lived didn't have working AC and they were struggling to keep all 7 dogs fed and healthy. Because of Roscoe immediately went to the property with food and other supplies and got all the adult dogs scheduled to be altered and get up to date with their vetting. While they weren't immediately prepared to take in dogs, when the owners agreed to surrender mama and babies to give them a better life, Because of Roscoe scooped them up and sent them our way so we could find them the best forever homes! Giselle is 9 weeks old and weighs only 2.5 lbs. Both parents are chihuahuas who weigh under 10 lbs, so she'll stay a small dog when full-grown! Giselle is a sweet little girl who is gaining confidence everyday. She's super sweet and loves cuddles! She is in a foster home with gentle kids, several other dogs, and a cat, who she does great with. Like all puppies, she's looking for a forever home with time, patience, and love to continue teaching her everything a young puppy needs to know!
