Description
Dog Breed: Yorkshire Terrier Yorkie / Mixed (short coat). Meet Autumn! This sweet Yorkie mix was found as a stray with her sister Abby. They are quite bonded and would love to find a home together. Autumn is about 3 years old and 10 pounds. She is an easy pup, and just wants to be by your side (or on your lap) at all times. Her sister helps ease her separation anxiety. They are both couch potatoes and would love someone to just hang out with. Autumn is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. The adoption fee for the two as a pair is $495. We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life! To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at .savinggreatanimals and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
