Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. Adoption Fee: 200. Meet Hera! She is a 40 lbs lab mix. She’s is 10 years old. She was in a home for all 10 years until she sadly found herself at the shelter. Her beautiful eyes will get your attenon, then her personality will steal your heart! She is the best dog ever! She is key turn ready! She is the easiest dog! She is leash trained, potty trained, crate trained, knows commands, and is great in the car. She is amazing on the leash, does not pull or react, but she does like to say hi to other people because she is so friendly and sweet. She is patient, calm, gentle, and loving. She does not bark (except when she is sleeping lol) but she does talk which is adorable! She is great with cats, dogs, and kids. She loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. She loves to be in between yours legs. She always wants to be by your side and loves attention. She needs a home with no or minimal stairs. She is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and prevention and heartworm negative. Her adoption fee is $175. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
