Description
Dog Breed: Sheep Dog / Poodle (unknown type) / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: $350.00. Hello! My name is Minnie Moose. I am about 3 years old, female, sheepadoodle mix. I weigh in around 60lbs. I'm hoping to find a family who will love me forever! I was found as a stray, wearing a bandana and a name tag with "Minnie" on it. I hung out at the shelter for a while, but my people never came for me :( But listen - I have SO much to offer my real forever family! I love my people and I get attached very quickly. Once I get familiar with my people I want to be where they are and I don't roam too far. I have great recall and plenty of energy which would make me a great hiking buddy. In fact I like to go on adventures so much that I can jump right up into the car by myself. No lifting necessary. I already know how to sit, shake, and probably some other things my foster family hasn't discovered yet. Since I have been here I have learned how to use a dog door. I am good with other dogs with a proper introduction, but I do best with dogs that are at least 25lbs. I tend to intimidate the smaller ones because I am such a big girl. I would really like to have a furry friend that would play with me either in my home or on play dates. Me and cats don't get along great, so I would do best in a home without cats. I do fine when left in the house to roam, but due to my size it's probably a good idea not to leave your dinner meat on the counter (when your not home) as it is way too tempting for me. I am really anxious to meet my new family so I can start building my new life with them. If you think you are my best forever family please apply to meet me at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
