This adorable 3-month-old female Heeler puppy will be arriving to MARS on 8/23 and is on the lookout for a foster or forever family. Hazy is all puppy—full of curiosity, playfulness, and a love for learning. Heelers are known for their smarts and energy, so she’ll thrive in a home ready to keep her active and engaged. Whether she’s romping around the yard, working on her puppy manners, or snuggling in for a nap, Hazy is sure to bring joy to your days. Could you be the one to give this sweet girl her first real taste of home? * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization. If you have previously applied with us please email placementmidwestanimalrescue to reactivate your application with new interest. or When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care. Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
