Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Say hello to Margot, the Sweetest Pup You'll Ever Meet! Margot is a 1-year-old, 30-lb terrier mix. She may be a timid girl at first but after spending some time with her, you will soon realize that there is a very friendly, cuddle-loving, sweet girl inside. Once she knows you are safe, she will come to you tail wagging, snuggle up on the couch, and shower you with hugs and kisses! She also loves playing with other furry friends, playing fetch, and splashing in the doggie pool! After some fun, you'll likely find her curled up on the couch, napping peacefully. Even though she's still young and playful, she's also incredibly obedient. She listens well, and has great recall at home. She's already house-trained, crate-trained, and rides well in the car. She's submissive and eager to please and loves being part of the family, making her a wonderful fit for someone who wants a loyal, affectionate dog. Margot truly is a gem — sweet, loving, and ready to be the perfect companion. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
