OK with open relationship. I can accept my hooman having other pups or other hoomans in their life, but I draw the line at a CAT, absolutely no cats! This girl has standards, high ones. Searching for soulmate to share walks, dinners (candlelight optional), a good book, or a movie (just no scary ones, please). I’m also fond of breakfast, lunch, and snacks. I can be a bit mischievous which I consider a real plus. I mean, who wants a milk toast, vanilla girl. A little bit of spice is always good with all that sugar. I am a bit shy and it does take me a bit to warm up but you know, a good-lookin’ girl like me can’t be too careful. Once I am sure about you, lookout. I’m yours for life. Reach out and touch this girl at allamericandachshundrescuegmail BIO UPDATE (9/19/25): Tammy has been in her foster home for nearly 4 weeks. She is settling in well and quickly learned the household routine. She is VERY smart, but like any young dog, can get into mischief if bored. It would be great if her adoptive home had another small dog for Tammy to learn from and play with. She gets along well with the three senior doxies in her foster home. We are quite sure that Tammy was used for breeding purposes and thus was never well socialized. She was very likely abused in the past since she cowers if you stand over her and is still fearful in any new situation. On the bright side … Tammy follows her foster mom everywhere! She sleeps through the night. She will go outside to potty or use a pee pad in the house. Once she begins to trust you, she will be your best buddy. She will need time to warm up to men or children in the home … and especially strangers or visitors. Tammy is precious! She absolutely deserves a loving forever home where she can blossom into an AWESOME pet and companion. Is that YOUR home?!? BIO: Tammy has not had a good life. We got her from a man in OH and we strongly believe she was abused. She is very fearful of children and men but will warm up to women. Once she knows you have no intention of hurting her, she is just a sweet little girl that wants to be loved. If you truly want to “rescue” a dog and show them what kindness is all about, then this is the girl for you. Because she is so fearful at first, you must have patience. She will need to know that she is safe. That means possible potty issues and hiding from you, but we will be here to help you. We just want you to know the result will be one beautiful, loving girl. Our must haves for her: A fenced in yard Another small well-socialized young dog for her to pal around with Someone that can be home more than not No apartments high rises of condos, please If you meet these requirements and really want to rescue a dog, then this is your chance. ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
