Dog Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). Meet Patch. He was being given away by his family because they no longer wanted him, but thanks to a caring animal advocate who stepped in, he’s now safe with our rescue and ready for his next chapter. This sweet boy has been in his foster home for about three weeks and settled in easily. He lives with two small dogs and multiple cats, quickly learning the routine. Patch follows his canine buddies everywhere and is still getting used to the cats. He will respect a confident cat who sets boundaries, but chase the timid ones.... Patch has moderate energy, is housetrained, and crate-trained. His foster parents feed him in his crate to keep it a positive place, and he goes in happily. If crated while you’re out, he may bark for a minute, but then quickly settles to nap. Patch is curious and loves to explore. He enjoys playing, snuggling, watching TV, napping, and exploring the yard. While he plays well with his pack, he’s also great at entertaining himself, flipping toys in the air and chasing them when no one else wants to play. It’s adorable! He rides well in the car, and at night, sleeps in bed with the pack, cuddled close. He’s new to leash walking and is still adapting. Patch can be a little shy when meeting new people and would do best in a home with another socially confident dog to help boost his confidence. Once he trusts you, he’ll happily soak up pets and cuddles. This fabulous little guy will be coming to town on 8/30. Apply today to welcome him home.
