Dog Breed: Bulldog. Gertrude is as sweet as her name is memorable! This gentle girl recently arrived with a group of dogs from our partners at the West Point Clay County Animal Shelter in Mississippi, and she’s already showing us what a gem she is. She’s playful and affectionate, especially when it comes to her favorite games—chasing balls and a good round of tug. Gertrude also appreciates the finer things in life, like a good butt scratch and the right to move at her own pace when she feels like it. This lovable pup gets along well with other dogs, does fine with children, and mostly ignores the cats in her foster home. She’s also both housebroken and crate trained, making her an easy fit for many families. We’re just getting to know her, but one thing is certain: she’s a sweetheart through and through and will make a wonderful companion Stop by our weekly adoption events on Saturdays from 12-4 pm at 372 Townline Road in Mundelein, IL 60060 to meet our adoptable animals in person.
