Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Shepherd / Mixed. *Name: Indigo *Age: 1 year old *Current Weight: 52lbs *Rescued from: Georgia *Adoption fee: $475 Meet Indigo! From a rural shelter in Georgia to a second chance at life, Indigo is now ready to write her next chapter—with you. Indigo is a one-year-old shepherd with a heart as big as her ears. Sweet, social, and endlessly curious, this girl makes friends wherever she goes—whether they walk on two legs or four. She’s gentle, polite with her food, and already showing off her good house manners in her foster home. Smart and eager to learn, Indigo thrives with mental stimulation and play. She’s especially fond of squeaky toys and puzzle games—anything that challenges her clever mind and keeps her tail wagging. She enjoys going for walks, hikes and pretty much any outdoor activity. And at the end of the day, she's happy to climb up onto the couch for some quality snuggles. Whether you’re looking for a loyal adventure buddy or a constant companion, Indigo is ready to be your best friend. All she needs now is a loving forever home. Could that be you? Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
