Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Onyx is a sweet 10-year-old pittie/possible boxer mix with a heart as soft as his velvet coat. Onyx came to us with his friend, Jasmine, when their family went through some life changes and had to find a new home for them. This handsome 53-pound gentleman is looking for a calm, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years surrounded by kindness and comfort. Though timid at first, Onyx blossoms into an affectionate companion once he feels safe. He loves quiet moments and gentle snuggles. Because he’s sensitive to loud noises and sudden commotion, a peaceful home without too much hustle and bustle would help him thrive. If you're looking for a devoted buddy to enjoy slow walks, cozy evenings, and unconditional love, Onyx might just be the perfect match. According to his prevous home, Onyx is said to be friendly around other dogs, but not so great around cats, so would do best in a feline-free environment. If you are interested in meeting Onyx, please visit the shelter during our open hours; Mon, Tues, Wed, Fri 10a-12:30p & 2p-4p, Thurs 10a-12:30p & 2p-6:30p, and Saturday 9a-1p. Adoption application can be filled out and approved during your meet-and-greet. If you have another dog in the home, plan to bring them for a meet before you complete the adoption!
