Description

Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois / Doberman Pinscher / Mixed (medium coat). Kenneth is a beautiful, young, red and brown large breed mix originally found as a stray before coming into our care. He was found running with another small, young dog. Since being in the shelter, Kenneth has been friendly with people once he gets to know you, regularly recognizing his favorite staff and volunteers. Kenneth is shy, but curious around other dogs at the shelter, and would benefit from living with a confident, social dog in his forever home to help build his own confidence and dog skills. Kenneth is required to meet any resident dogs before adoption, and each memeber of the family should plan to meet him, too. He is known to bark in his kennel when left unattended, so a family that can be near him often will help him transition to his new home. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
