He’s housebroken (with a few accidents adjusting to new medicine), crate trained, and knows basic commands like sit, come, and even “go to your room.” He’s great with kids, dogs of all sizes, and even loved the family cat (though the feeling wasn’t mutual. Health: Earlier this year, Rowdey experienced seizures and is currently on medication (Keppra) that has kept him seizure-free. The meds made him groggy at first, but with a reduced dose, he’s doing much better. His new family will need to continue monitoring his health and keep him on medication. Personality: Rowdey is protective of his home and will bark at strangers, but he warms up once given a few minutes to adjust. He’s not destructive—though he has stolen a pair of underwear or two in his lifetime. Other Notes: • Has lived peacefully with visiting dogs (including an 8-year-old Labradoodle). • Up to date on vaccines and preventatives (last shots March 2025). • Eats Royal Canin Large Breed formula. • Best in a home where his people will give him patience when meeting new faces. Important: Rowdey did have one bite incident last month when woken suddenly by someone he didn’t know while on his medication. Since then, his family has learned it’s best to let him wake and adjust slowly. Rowdey is a wonderful dog who deserves a loving, understanding home that will continue his care.
