Dog Breed: Beagle / Mixed. Cher is a 1-year-old Beagle who has blossomed into a playful, toy-loving sweetheart. While her brother Sonny is all about food, Cher’s true joy is her toys—she’ll happily keep herself entertained tossing them around or playing with a volunteer. She’s also very social and was part of “The Breakfast Club” at the shelter—a group of easygoing, well-mannered dogs who enjoyed free-roaming together, sunbathing on Kuranda beds, and keeping volunteers company as they worked. Cher’s story began in hardship. She and Sonny were abandoned when their family was evicted, left to fend for themselves on a mountain. At first, she was terrified of people and had to be trapped with pizza just to be brought to safety. It was clear she’d been used for hunting and never experienced what it meant to be a pet. But with love and patience, Cher has transformed into a happy, friendly dog who enjoys people, kids, cats and other dogs, and she’s learning what it means to belong to a family. Now Cher is ready for a forever home where she can keep growing into the beloved pet she was meant to be. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
