Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua (medium coat). Chepo is participating in the fee waived adoption event sponsored by the MSPCA from Mon 8/18 - Sat 8/23! Chepo is an independent little guy that can be headshy when it comes to leashes and collars, but will happily curl up on the couch alongside the people he's comfortable with. He prefers to keep to himself most of the time, and can be nervous meeting new people, but brightens up a bit while meeting other dogs. OTHER PETS: Chepo got along well with other dogs, but he was happier co-existing alongside them rather than trying to play. He would likely get along best with another relaxed dog that will live alongside him. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Someone that has positive reinforcement experience with timid dogs would be the best match for Chepo. [Some Experience] KIDS: Chepo is timid with new people and can be uncomfortable with some handling. He would likely do best in a quiet, low-activity house with older kids that can understand how to interact with him, and when to let him have his space. [13+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: [Couch Potato] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training will help Chepo not only learn his basic cues & skills, but also help him to bond with his new owner as well. [Minimal] GROOMING: Routine brushing will help to minimize shedding in the home. [Minimal]

Chihuahua
Overview:
The Chihuahua is a tiny bundle of joy. Kids love him ' and for good reason. This breed seems always excited about something. They do best as an indoor dog, but they love to scamper around in the yard ' in suitable weather.
