Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Our darling Wren is eagerly searching for her forever home where she can finally leave boarding behind! After spending a whole month in a shelter, we’re really hoping she finds her perfect match soon. She deserves a super cozy haven where she can unwind and discover that everything is going to be just fine. Once she decides you’re her special person, you’ll have a loyal bestie for life, sticking by your side through thick and thin. She’s such a sweetheart—calm, gentle, and just craving lots of love and cuddles. She’s wonderful with kids, and we suspect she might have been a mama dog before, showing those nurturing instincts. If you’re considering adopting Wren but aren’t quite ready to commit, we offer a foster-to-adopt option, giving you the chance to ensure it’s a perfect fit for both of you! Whether it’s fostering, adopting, or foster-to-adopt, we’re incredibly grateful and simply want this precious girl to find her loving home. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
