Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Terrier / Mixed. Meet Pierce – The King of Zoomies & Snuggles! Pierce (about 35lbs of pure joy) is the perfect mix of playful pup and professional napper. He’ll zoom around the yard like an Olympic sprinter, then curl up with you under a blanket for some serious cuddle time. This smart boy already knows his basic commands, and his potty and crate training are going great! He LOVES his foster sister (who happens to be three times his size!) and would be thrilled to have a doggy sibling to romp around with. Pierce’s favorite hobbies include unloading the toy bin to make sure every single toy gets some love, rolling in the grass, and keeping your lap warm after playtime. He’s still learning that not all men are scary, so he’ll need some patience and reassurance in that area. While he hasn’t been tested with kids or cats just yet, he does have typical puppy energy and playfulness—think silly jumps and goofy play nibbles. If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, snuggly sidekick who will keep you laughing and loving every day, Pierce just might be your perfect match! Pierce will be available on or after 8/24/25 at Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale PA. KL# 16182

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
