Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. •King of the side eye, Eeyore eyes, and sploots •Cutest overbite •Stinky tooter •Rides well in a car & doesn’t get car sick •Handles very well on a leash • Likes to cuddle •Loves people (did good around our friends’ kids - 6 months & 5 years old) •Doesn’t show much interest in toys •Has a little resource guarding with food if other dogs try to get near when he’s eating •Has done well with our dogs and our cat (and a dog he met at the brewery) •Makes little piglet sounds & snores some •Loves back scratches and under his chin •Crate trained •He’s quiet and really only whines; doesn’t bark much •Doesn’t have a problem with stairs (though can get a little intimated going Down them if there’s a Lot - goes down with encouragement) •Does get spooked with traffic •Mostly just wants to follow you around or will go curl up on the couch if he gets tired •Jumps up just because he’s a short stack and wants to be closer to you •Will give kisses Duckie is up to date on vaccinations, is neutered, takes monthly flea and heartworm prevention, and his adoption fee is $300. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
