Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. If you are looking for the cutest and best companion, Rudy is your young man. Rudy short for Rudolf the red nose reindeer. Rudy is a 7-month-old terrier mix currently weighing in at 38 lbs. Rudy is up to date on his vaccines including rabies and is also neutered. Rudy is full of love and energy. He looks at you with the most loving eyes and just wants love all the time. His cutest feature is army crawling up to you when he wants to cuddle. He has the most expressive ears; up for when he hears you, back when he's excited and the most adorable head tilt when you're talking to him. He loves to go for walks, car rides, fetch balls, play with toys and wrestle with his sister doggies. He also loves his humans; where you go, Rudy is right beside you. Oh and he would love to lick your whole face. Also, he loves the water; whether you're watering the garden, just using the hose or even jumping in the bath. And talk about a perfect gentleman; He does great when he is getting his baths and every night, he goes right into his crate when you tell him it’s bedtime. He sleeps in his crate all night, not a peep. As soon as you greet him, he goes out to go potty. He also mastered the doggie door in one day and has not had any accidents in the house. Rudy went to a 2 week board and train and came out with even better manners. He still gets excited and pulls on walks but his people now know how to redirect him. Everyday Rudy goes to work with his human and dog sisters, so he is used to many people coming in and out of the office and he is totally fine meeting people and getting pets. He has not been around cats or farm animals so we do not know how we will do with them. He does amazing with other dogs and would prefer a playmate as he plays all day with his sister dogs. Rudy has not been around small children so we would be particular that any potential adopters Rudy make sure small humans are well behaved with boundaries. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
