Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Meet Shocka, the sunshine-seeking cuddle queen! This goofy, loving, and playful pup is the ultimate ride-or-die once she decides you’re her person—at that point, congratulations, you’ve just become the center of her universe. She’ll happily keep your feet warm, hog the sunniest spot in the house, and snuggle right into the warmest corner of you she can find. Shocka has a strict “no cold weather” policy—anything below 50 degrees is a firm absolutely not. Winter walks? Short. Summer lounging in the sunshine? Endless. Basically, she’s a warm-weather girl living her best life. She’s also got a strong “neighborhood security officer” side—delivery drivers, passersby, squirrels… you name it, she’s on patrol. She takes her job seriously, which means she’d be happiest in a home without shared walls (because not everyone appreciates her alarm system as much as you will). New people can be a little overwhelming for her at first, so she prefers slow introductions and appreciates humans who respect her space. Vet visits? Let’s just say she’s a “hug it out” kind of gal—literally throwing her arms around her human to get through it. Shocka gets along well with other dogs and cats, but when it comes to mealtime, she’d rather have her food all to herself—because sharing is overrated. She’s also a professional chewer, so a good stash of toys and blankets is a must (bonus: you’ll always know what to get her as a gift). And let’s not forget her signature feature: that ridiculously adorable underbite. She flashes it whenever she’s in trouble, and trust me, staying mad at her is impossible when she’s grinning at you like a cartoon character. At the end of the day, Shocka is a loyal cuddle buddy who will shower you with love, smiles, and entertainment. She’s got her quirks, but that just makes her even more unforgettable. With a patient and loving family, this warm-weather snugglebug will be the best companion you could ever ask for. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
