Dog Breed: Boston Terrier / Chihuahua / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 550. Harley is a gentle, mellow girl who has quickly shown what a sweet soul she is. She loves attention and touch. Her obedience and calm nature make her a refreshing joy to walk, and she’d be perfect for someone looking for a loyal, low-key companion. Her past wasn’t kind. Harley came from the Huntsville Animal Shelter, and it’s believed she spent her early years as a puppy mill dog. When she first arrived, she was emaciated, having just weaned a litter. She was so hungry that she would overeat to the point of getting sick and still want more. With consistent meals and care, she’s regained strength and trust, but her gentle, meek demeanor is a reminder of her history. Housetraining is still a work in progress, but she’s making progress with patience and routine. She isn’t vocal, only whining when she first wakes up or wants out of her kennel. She isn’t interested in rough play and prefers not to have other dogs in her face, she’d thrive best in a quiet household where she can be the center of someone’s devotion. Due to her past, Harley would do best in a home with a calm dog companion. Harley’s meekness is what makes her precious. She doesn’t ask for much, just a calm home, steady love, and someone patient enough to help her finish learning the basics. In return, she’ll be a gentle, loving presence who’s simply grateful to finally be safe. Harley is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 09/06/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 4:30 and 8pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
