Sweetie lives up to her name in every way – she’s a soft, beautiful girl full of love, and is just waiting for the right person to help her shine. Once she feels safe, she bonds deeply and becomes your little shadow. It may take a little time, but when Sweetie chooses you, you’ll know it’s real. This girl has a playful streak too – she loves toys and plays gently with her foster's toddler! And if there’s water around? Watch out! Whether it’s a bowl, a puddle, or a kiddie pool, Sweetie will find a way to splash in it. Sweetie’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was rescued from a culvert and came in battling fleas and worms – but she’s healing and learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Because of her rough start, she may be timid at first, so she’ll need a patient, understanding home where she can move at her own pace. She'll also do best in a home with a confident canine companion to help show her the ropes. She’s not the kind of puppy who will rush to greet you – but she’s the kind who stays by your side once she knows she’s safe. Sweetie is ready to learn and grow into an amazing family dog! Sweetums is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 09/06/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 4:30 and 8pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
