Description
Dog Breed: Collie / Beagle / Mixed. Adoption Fee: 450. Pepper Potts was found as a stray with her puppies, and she’s proven herself to be one of those easygoing, quietly wonderful dogs that just fits in anywhere. She’s a little shy at first, but her tail never stops wagging, and within minutes she’s happily following you around like an old friend. Pepper Potts is gentle and even-tempered. She’s been around goats, horses, cats, ducks, and squirrels without bothering any of them. She enjoys walks, has great leash manners, and prefers to trot along off-leash when she can. She knows “stay” and “down,” rides well in the car, and willingly goes in her crate. Pepper hasn’t lived inside much, but with her calm, adaptable nature, she’s likely to transition smoothly. She does have a few quirks—she startles at correction and may overreact, and when excited she may let out a little “complain bark” or greet you with a funny grin. In her first days, she also had some submissive “happy pee” greetings, but that quickly passed and may resurface briefly in a new home. Her previous foster said she could climb a fence, though she hasn’t shown that tendency since. Overall, Pepper Potts is affectionate, playful, and steady. She’d love a yard to lounge in, plus a person who enjoys hiking or walking with a loyal sidekick. She’s truly “a good one.” Pepper Potts is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 09/06/2025 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 4:30 and 8pm. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven’t arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Click here to learn more about the FTA program. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start’s veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about Ruff Start’s adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals.
