Sweet Luna is ready for her second chance at life - and she’s determined to make the most of it! At just 1.5 years old and about 48 lbs, this playful, goofy girl has already shown us how resilient and loving she is. Luna’s journey hasn’t been easy. She was discovered after being left alone in a filthy kennel with no food or water, thin and covered in sores from her dirty environment. Despite her sweet nature, the shelter kennel environment was overwhelming for her. Thankfully, her story didn’t end there. Her foster family stepped up, and Luna was welcomed into a loving home! Now she’s thriving and learning what it means to be part of a family! What Luna loves: Toys, toys, and more toys! Durable chews and balls are her absolute favorites (no stuffies for this girl). Water fun. She loves splashing in her pool or catching water from the shower head. Snuggles. After playtime, she’s happiest curled up close to her people - sometimes right in between her foster parents in bed when foster mom gives in! Walks and adventures. She may start off excited, but she settles in quickly and improves with every outing. A front-clip harness works great for her! Her foster siblings. Luna lives with three other dogs (two large males and one female pittie). She’s learned the pack dynamics well, seeking out play with her foster sister while being respectful of her foster brothers who prefer quiet time. She often plays gently and submissively - even wrestling from her back and is responsive when foster mom says it's time to take a break. Other things to know about Luna: She’s potty trained! She kennels with joy. She’ll sprint to her kennel at mealtime and happily settle in. She may let out a few “whale calls” but quiets quickly - though she’ll let you know when she hears you’ve come home! (Shared walls aren’t recommended.) She rides well in the car. Her favorite spot is with her chin perched on your shoulder - sometimes even snoozing there while standing! She does well with chickens. While curious, she’s easily redirected from their pen. No known history with cats or small dogs. She’s not a fan of vacuums or loud machines. For now, she relaxes in her kennel when the vacuum, Roomba, or mower is running. She enjoys kids, but… Luna doesn’t always realize her size and strength, so she’d do best with older children who won’t be easily toppled by her enthusiasm. Luna is looking for a family who will continue her training, provide enrichment, and shower her with the love she deserves. She’s overcome so much already—now she’s ready to thrive with a family of her very own! If you’ve been waiting for a loyal, funny, and snuggly best friend, Luna might just be the one.
