Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed (short coat). Meet Barney! Age: 3 years Breed: French Bulldog Barney is a sweet little guy with the biggest smile and an even bigger heart. This three-year-old French Bulldog came from a breeding situation, so the world is still a little new to him. He’ll need a patient family who can give him the time, love, and reassurance he deserves as he learns how wonderful life as a beloved pet can be. Despite his rough start, Barney’s gentle spirit shines through. He’s incredibly loving, adores attention, and his happy personality makes it easy to fall in love with him. He’s doing well with potty training—seemingly mostly there—and with consistency, he’ll master it in no time. Barney is also a social butterfly! He loves the company of other dogs and would thrive in a home with a canine buddy to help show him the ropes. If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who just needs a little patience and a lot of love, Barney is ready to be your best friend for life. Could Barney be the one to complete your family?

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
