Dog Breed: Schnauzer (medium coat). Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescueyahoo), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. This cute little guy is WINSTON but I need to get more pictures of him, I will try today. He is a pure breed Schnauzer, 1 year old and 12.5 pounds of playful energy. He is in a home with several fosters big and small breeds and he happily plays with all of them. This guy is a lover as well as he loves to snuggle with me when he is not playing with his pay PEPE or one of the female pugs. And he walks great on a leash, no pulling, just normal walking. WINSTON was dumped in a far away landfill completely matted with his nails so overgrown they had curved over. He was great while being groomed for such a long time, he just stood there like a champion. He is well behaved and low maintenance on a daily basis. Each dog comes spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice. The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption. They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
