Cute and Cuddly KAYLA is pet-ready mini-Aussie who is very calm and easy to handle. She has a loving personality and great disposition. Kayla will never be more than 5 feet from her owners! She’s a typical Velcro-Aussie who doesn’t want to be left out of any of the action! Kayla is very comfortable on car rides, boat rides and golf cart rides! She’s got a moderate energy level but is chill enough to settle in for adventures with her humans. Kayla has definitely become an indoor-pet Aussie who will stay outside long enough to potty but much prefers indoors with her people. She is kennel-trained and goes in readily off and on in the day time; she gets a tiny treat each time. Kayla sleeps at nights in her kennel by choice. So far her fosters are crating her when not at home but more for her security NOT because of destructive behavior. Kayla has been great with grandchildren and happily follows them around the yard. She stays close but does not nip. If allowed, Kayla would happily sit beside or on someone but we have trained her to stay off the furniture and instead lies close at our feet. Kayla is a great eater. She is getting a good quality dry kibble and a little salmon in the mornings. Kayla likes to have a couple stuffed toys but does not chew them up. She has not chewed anything else in the house! Kayla is a nice “RV traveling size” or a “sit in your lap and cuddle size;” she will happily follow her humans wherever she’s allowed to and will always want to be included in the fun! KAYLA found herself a foster home by following the grandchildren home from school! After checking for a chip and checking with neighbors the family who has her reached out to DASH to help find her a Forever Home. If Kayla sounds like a perfect match for you or your family (children over 10 with Aussie experience) then please complete our Adoption Application on our website below, then TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 So I can check your application and get back to you! Thank you! .dashdog General Info - PLEASE READ! *Our $450 adoption fee is based on the cost of rescuing, transporting and vetting each dog; we do not try to compete on prices with municipal shelters whose funds are paid by the city. Our philosophy is to rescue highly adoptable dogs, have them live kennel-free in private homes for temperament assessments and individual personalities. We work hard to match EACH dog with the right family - kids or no kids, other dogs male or female and/or cats. With very rare exceptions all dogs over 6 months will be spayed or neutered PRIOR to adoption - dogs under 6 months will include a spay/neuter date AND referral info for lower-cost surgery if the adopter does not choose to use her or his personal vet. OUR VETS WILL NOT PERFORM SPAY NEUTER SURGERIES UNTIL DOG IS 6 MONTHS OLD. Please READ ALL of our info below BEFORE SENDING APPLICATION. Our goal is to help our puppies and dogs find FOREVER HOMES AND FAMILIES, NOT TO MAKE IT PROHIBITIVE FOR YOU TO ADOPT. However, once we review the application and contact you, we MEET TO ADOPT, so please let us know if you are ONLY APPLYING TO STAY ON FILE or THAT YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT, for the consideration of our puppies and dogs and families who know the time is right!
