Please be aware we do not hold dogs until an appointment to meet them is scheduled. Sweetest little baby ever! Approximate DOB 5/25/2025 – Will be about 8-12 lbs as an adult Toffee along with his siblings Taffy and Tootsie were part of a large hoarding case(Chihuahuas, Miniature Pinschers, Dachshunds, and Toy Fox Terriers). Their mom was a tiny Chihuahua about 6 lbs but we do not know which dog/s was/were the dad/s. The largest dog from this case was about 14 lbs. We don't expect any of the babies from this litter to get over 14 lbs. These babies are very outgoing, sweet, and playful. This little guy has more of a Dachshund body and is very small. Working on house training. They are currently in an x-pen with puppy pads, their bed, toys, and their food and water. They seem to use one corner of their puppy pads in the pen so that is good. These babies have also started going outside to potty pretty regularly and are doing great. Toffee has a long body and little legs with large perked ears. He is very outgoing, playful, and very sweet. He should have a very active family that can help him burn off all that energy. He loves toys and is very treat motivated but his favorite thing is exploring and following his favorite person around all the time. He has been raised with children, dogs, and cats in the foster home and loves everyone he meets. He is an absolute gem who will make a wonderful addition to any family wanting a sweet little boy that loves to snuggle up after a day of exploring. Spayed/neutered, microchipped, and current on all vaccinations - Fee $275 We do welcome out-of-state adoptions. Adopters would need to be able to come out to meet/adopt the pet. Send an email to request the application or you can download it from the main site .almosthomenm and email it to adoptalmosthomenm Dogs are seen by appointment only after an application has been submitted and approved. If you have other dogs it is recommended you bring them out to the meeting but not required. If you are not ready to adopt (vacation/travel planned and don't want to put your new pet in boarding, in the middle of a move, etc) please wait to schedule an appointment until you are ready. Steps for adoption: Read bio, email to request application or download it from the main website, fill it out completely and email it back, once approved you will receive an email asking you when you would like to come out to meet the pet, schedule an appointment, directions will be emailed or text to you. Adoption fees are cash only. If you would like to help with rescue by providing monetary support for vetting, snacks, and toys for the dogs in our program while they wait for their happily ever afters we would truly appreciate it. Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
