Update 8.24.25 Hi there, I'm Satchmo - the king of cool, the sultan of swing, and the one and only boxer with a name that says it all. I'm still getting used to this whole "rescue dog" thing, but I'm loving the attention and treats so far. A bit about me - I just got out of a not-so-fun place (animal control) after six long weeks. Let's just say it was loud and scary, but the officers there were super nice to me. They helped me get back to a normal weight, and now I'm chomping down on yummy wet and dry puppy food to keep me going. As for my living situation, I'm currently sporting some belly bands in the house (don't worry, it's just a temporary thing until I get neutered), and I'm still getting used to this whole "crate training" thing. But I'm a quick learner, and I love spending time with my humans - even if it means hanging out in a crate for a bit. I'm a bit of a scaredy-cat at first (or should I say, scaredy-dog?), but once I get to know you, I'm your best friend. I love people, and I love attention. I'm still figuring out this whole "leash walking" thing, and I get a bit spooked by bicycles and cars, but with a confident buddy by my side, I'm sure I'll be just fine. Speaking of buddies, I'm a total social butterfly (or should I say, social dog?) when it comes to meeting new dogs. I'm friendly, exuberant, and a bit of a roughhouser - I love to box and play, and I'm still learning how to play nicely with toys (I'm more of a "chew on your hand" kind of guy right now). My ideal home would have a confident dog friend to show me the ropes and teach me that not everything is scary. I'd love to have a family that's patient, understanding, and willing to help me learn all the things. Oh, and treats - lots and lots of treats. As for my living situation, I'm currently crashing in a crate in my foster mom's bedroom, and I'm getting used to it. I still get a bit anxious at first, but I settle down and sleep through the night. I'm also learning to chill in my crate during the day, and I can hang out for a few hours without too much fuss. So, if you're looking for a fun-loving, energetic, and adorable boxer mix who's still learning the ropes, I might be your guy.
